Turex Cup, Stockholm, Sweden

Very much anticipated first overseas trip in over three years for our HK Typhoons Selects U12 team.
 
Turex Cup, a traditional junior tournament in Sweden this year was for 2010 born players. Our HK Typhoons Selects U12 Team was youngest in the games with almost half players being 2011 born. First proper experience with body contact hockey. Five out of eight teams being AAA level teams. These in mind we knew this will be tough, exciting, challenging and a place to learn a lot!
 
Having our own locker room for the week, a space for players to be responsible of their own equipment, time management and game preparation was one of the many aspects coaches were looking forward to expose players to.
 
Our HK Typhoons Selects U12 Team played a total of eight games collecting 2 wins, 1 tie and 5 losses. A team can never be happy after a loss, but looking behind the result with reality of hours opposing teams training together in weekly basis, and level in Swedish ice hockey, our players can be very proud of their showing. Our team showed great progression on their team play tactically, great discipline on working together and never lack of effort throughout the games.
 
Good goaltending, good team atmosphere, best fans in the tournament, lots of new friends from opposing teams and well organised tournament with beautiful crispy cold and snowy Scandinavian winter gave all players memory for a lifetime.
