The U8 Select White team had done their best in this tournament.

2019 Taipei Cup (October 1-4, 2019) The HK Typhoons Selects had 2 teams (U8 and U10) participated in the Taipei Cup which we had a great time in for an outskirt sight-seeing, then followed with a team practice before tournament start. This year all the teams in U8 and U10 divisions are very competitive and every game is a real close game.

2019 Singapore Ice Dragons Classic Tournament, Singapore
We took our U8, U10 and U15 teams (total of 4 teams to Singapore for our final tournament before MI5. A fun and exciting event, all teams showed strong play and hard work, remaining competitive despite having travelled with younger groups. In dramatic fashion, our U8s captured the gold medal in overtime, after having tied the game up with just over a minute to go.

During Easter Holidays, our U9 HK Typhoons Selects team entered the 2018 Club Challenge World Cup (U13 Tournament) – Division B with something to prove, facing all Japanese teams in a competitive environment. The team got off to a good start, beating the Nikko Ice Bucks 3-0 with great teamwork.

Our HK Typhoons Selects program travelled to Shenzhen for a tournament with our U8 and U10 teams in Feburary . This served as an opportunity to see how we compared to other teams in the Guangdong region. Safe to say our young athletes didn’t disappoint, dominating at both levels and taking double championships back to Hong Kong.

2019 Shenzhen World Ice Cup
Shenzhen Tournament was the last tournament of the summer, just right before the new season start. We went there with 4 teams, U8, U10 Blue, U10 White, and U12. Our U8 team was really young, but competed hard which they win their 3 first games and lost against a really strong team from Beijing on the last day. They finished this tournament with a well-deserved Silver medal.

HK Typhoons Selects landed to Bangkok for first tournament of 2019-2020 season with four hungry and excited teams. Our U8, U10, U14 and U16 was definitely ready lace up again and get back on the ice. Round robin U8 battled hard earning seed 3 and bronze medal game.

2019 Korea Zenith Tournament
We travelled to Korea for the Zenith cup with our U10 and U12 teams. The rink was cold and the ice was crisp, our players faced some tough competition. Ice hockey in Korea is more advanced than it is in Hong Kong. It was good for our kids to be exposed to a higher level of game-play and to take the opportunity to learn from their opponents.

We played with teams from Korea, Russia and of course China.

2018 Pattaya Beach Bash 4 on 4 Tournament
We have 3 teams in this tournament: HK Selects U6: After a first win against Icebreakers (5-2), a crushing defeat in overtime against the Jr Tigers (7-8OT), and a magnificent win against Bangkok Zeus (5-4), our team qualifies for the final. We find the Jr Tigers in the final, a very tight and tense match, but with the involvement of all the players and their seriousness,

2018 Manila PHIT Tournament
Landing to Manila, our two U10, one U12 and U15 teams were welcomed with hot and humid sunny weather. For not to sweat all weekend and for our relief, we never had to leave indoors during 3 tournament days. Short 3 minutes’ walk indoors from hotel directly to ice rink eased the commuting for all of us. First game of the tournament was between our two U10 teams HK Selects White and HK Selects Blue.

2018 Taipei Cup
The HK Selects travelled with 3 teams to Taipei with an opportunity to compete and grow closer with their teammates. Unfortunately, our U8, U12 and U15 programs came up empty, but despite this we saw moments of teamwork and development throughout the week. Our U8s showed that even with a depleted roster, they still had the heart and passion for the game that will carry them through their hockey journeys.

Recap Of Shenzhen Return Cup Tournament (Dec 23rd-24th, 2017)
It was a fantastic weekend in Shenzhen with our U8 Selects winning the gold medal at the Return Cup. We played two extremely exciting games over the two days, first game against the Shenzhen Hornets and second game against the Beijing Victory Dragons. Our first opponent, Shenzhen Hornets had a very similar style to our Team with a couple of core players leading the way offensively and defensively.

A Successful Mission in Zenith Cup, South Korea (Oct 6th-8th, 2017)
HK Typhoons just finished their 1st tournament of the winter season this past weekend in Seoul, Korea. Our U8, U10 and U12 teams participated in the Zenith Cup and while we did not bring home the gold, all of the teams were very competitive, winning 2 bronze for the U8s and U10s and a silver for the U12s. For most of the U8s it was there 1st tournament, so the players experienced a higher level of hockey and improved in each and every game played.

We are very proud of the way each team played in the tournament, each player was able to take something away that they learned. It is also worth noting that there was a large number of players who participated in two divisions as well another large group who took part in their first tournament with the Typhoons Organization.

Singapore Ice Dragons Classic Mission Completed
On March 9 – 11 the Typhoon Selects headed to Singapore to particiapte in the Ice Dragons Tournament. The Typhoon Selects took 4 teams (1 U10, 2 U12 an 1 U14) in what turned out to be a very busy few days. U10 – The team came out with a very impressive round robin defeating the Ice Dragon Juniors 9-0, Shanghai Thunderbirds 5-2, and Singapore Ice Dragons White 9-0.
