2025 The Zenith Cup, South Korea

2025 The Zenith Cup, Seoul, South Korea

(April 3-6, 2025)

The Zenith tournament in Korea was a high-level event that brought our teams face-to-face with some of the best youth hockey squads in the region. We travelled with three age groups: U9, U11, and U13. While the competition was strong, our players embraced the challenge with determination and heart. In terms of individual skills, we held our own across most categories, but the difference in shooting accuracy and overall game approach was noticeable. Korean teams displayed a polished, disciplined style of play, and adapting to that level pushed our players to elevate their game.

Among our teams, the U13 squad stood out and earned well-deserved praise. They played hockey the way it’s meant to be played, supporting each other on every shift, making smart decisions, and battling until the final whistle. Their effort and cohesion were a highlight of the tournament and a testament to their growth as a team. All three divisions ultimately placed 6th, but the experience gained was far more valuable than the final result.

Beyond the games, the tournament offered an amazing player developmental experience. Players participated in gym sessions, stick handling drills, and video feedback reviews to sharpen their skills and better understand their performance. Off the ice, the youngest players enjoyed a visit to the zoo, while the older groups bonded over football and badminton in the park. These shared moments helped strengthen team chemistry and reminded us that the more time players spend together, the stronger their connection becomes.

This tournament served as a crucial stepping stone ahead of our upcoming MI5 event in Hong Kong. The lessons learned in Korea about teamwork, preparation, and the importance of playing with purpose will undoubtedly fuel our players as we look forward to the next challenge back home.
