2022 Ice Naka Youth Hockey Tournament

Ice Naka Youth Ice Hockey Tournament in December 2022, first overseas tournament  since the pandemic started.
     
HK Typhoons Selects U8 Team, we started the tournament with 3 big wins 16-1, 16-0 and 12-3, against the teams of Ice Naka, Bangkok Zeus 2 and Grizzly bears respectively.  Then we encountered more adversity against the Young Ducks Team, despite the wide score of 8-1.  The last match was like the Final against the Bangkok Zeus team 1, a lack of success, tempo and finally confidence caused us to collapse against a team that was within our reach.  In conclusion, it was a very good first tournament experience for many new and young Selects players.  We finished second in the tournament at the end, but gained a lot of experiences.
     
HK Typhoons Selects U10 Team, quite the opposite of our U8 Team. We started the tournament with a defeat against a team within our reach, then we had a series of short defeats against a good team, a lack of success because we had have the opportunities to win these 2 games. We even only lost in overtime to Bangkok Zeus Team 1.  Unfortunately, we finished the tournament with 3 wins only.  We definitely didn’t start the tournament in the best way, a lack of tournament experience and focus cause us valuable points to finish higher in the standings.  At last, we finished the tournament at the 4th place out of 7, and had gained a lot of experiences for starting the next tournament in a better way.
